The furniture storage concept was born in the UK during the Industrial Revolution, when families migrating to cities needed to temporarily store their belongings. The first 'furniture repositories' appeared in London around 1850.
In Spain, furniture storage arrived with traditional moving companies at the beginning of the 20th century. Barcelona, as a port and industrial city, was a pioneer in offering this service for goods in transit and families emigrating to America.
The self-storage explosion arrived from the United States in the 90s. The American 'storage units' model was adapted to the Spanish market, and Barcelona saw its first self-storage centers open at the turn of the millennium.

Heavy furniture at bottom, light on top. Never put weight on upholstery or mattresses that can deform.
Leave access aisles
If you'll need to access specific things, organize so you can reach them without moving everything.

Empty appliances
Fridges and washing machines completely empty and dry. Leave doors ajar to avoid odors.
Protect documents
